10 Best Quadcopter Models of 2022

Wondering what quadcopter to buy this year? Well, some of the best quadcopter models have been launched, and we’re here to present them to you, drone by drone, spec by spec, propeller by propeller.

Because we love everything about quadcopters. Therefore, we love promoting well-engineered, high-performance quadcopters.

Maybe you’re a professional looking for something with which to capture that crisp 1080p video from the middle of the sky. Or maybe you’re an amateur drone lover wishing to get more serious about your hobby.

Either way, the following list of drones is bound to feature your next perfect companion! All you need to do – and it’s a really difficult task – is to decide which of the following best quadcopter models of 2016 is the one for you.

10 Best Quadcopter Reviews

10. Hubsan X4 (H107C) Quadcopter

The Hubsan X4 – probably the cheapest drone on this list – is not to be overlooked. Despite being small, having a small range, and a relatively low flight time at 7 minutes, the Hubsan makes up for its petite size.

For starters, it’s extremely maneuverable and easy to use. Secondly, because it’s so small, it can efficiently be used both inside and outside the house. Also, for 19-ounce drone, the battery is pretty big at 380 mAh.

Hubsan X4 (H107C) Specs
$37.45<7min.In/Outdoors720p380mAh<120min.19oz.70x70x25mm100 m

While not the best quadcopter drone of 2016, this one is clearly a fan favorite among amateurs, if only for the fact that it can record video at 720p.

9. Haktoys HAK907 Quadcopter

The advantage of the HAK907 is that it’s so small. At somewhere under 5 ounces, you know this little mechanical buzzard is practically an obese fly.

However, it can truly pack a punch! Its range is slightly lower than the Hubsan at number 10 on our list, but it can stay aloft for up to 10 minutes and it has almost double the battery.

Haktoys HAK907 Specs
$59.99<10min.In/OutdoorsSeparate650mAh<120min.4.64oz.33x33x7.5cm90 m

The downside of this little toy is that you need to buy the dedicated camera separately, but it’s really worthwhile.

8. Syma X5C Quadcopter

Want to shoot crystal-clear videos but not pay an absurd price for a device that can do that? The Syma X5C is the perfect quadcopter for your needs.

At 33 ounces and an operating range of 50 meters, the Syma is the bumblebee of our list. However, the camera more than makes up for everything.

Syma X5C Specs
$43.99<7min.In/OutdoorsHD Video500mAh<100min.33.6oz.42x31x10cm50 m

Simply put, the videos you’ll shoot will look almost professional and will most likely secure you the next viral video on YouTube.

7. Xiro Xplorer Quadcopter

We thought it necessary to mention some cheap-but-awesome quadcopters as the best quadcopters of 2016. Nevertheless, tiny drones are just one side of the spectrum.

The following quadcopters are truly top-of-the-line. Take the Xiro Xplorer for instance. For about $750 you get yourself much more than a little indoor toy.

It can last up to 25 minutes. It can shoot stunning photos. It can capture movie-quality videos. And it only weighs about 150 ounces and can operate within a pretty large range at 500 meters.

Xiro Xplorer Specs
$749<25min.Outdoors14MP,1080p5200mAh<120min.150oz.42x38x17.5cm500 m

We recommend the Xiro for those of you who are very serious about choosing the best quadcopter drone.

6. Yuneec Q500+ Typhoon Quadcopter

Yuneec have always made amazing products, yet the Q500+ far outranks the quality of their other products. For $700 you get the best quadcopter for the money.

It can run continuously for up to 25 minutes within a range of 500 meters. In that time, the Yuneec Typhoon specs tell us that it has no problem recording 1080p videos continuously. And it looks truly stunning.

5. Blade 350 QX3 Quadcopter

We’ve talked about another of Blade’s best quadcopter devices in an article here. However, with the Blade 350 QX3 be prepared to kick things up a notch. With a 3000mAh battery, you’d think this drone has a very long flight time.

And it has! At 15 minutes, you can practically get bored before the drone runs out of battery. It operates at a maximum of 400m, but it needs a separate camera.

Blade 350 QX3 Specs
$429<15min.OutdoorsSeparate3000mAh<100min.33.7oz.465x465x138mm400 m

However, it’s designed so that it can easily fit a GoPro.

4. DJI Phantom 3 2.7K Quadcopter

Many drone enthusiasts insist that the DJI Phantom is the best drone ever. One can’t really argue with that and the following spots on this list are really a matter of taste.

The Phantom 3 2.7K can shoot videos at 720p in stunning resolution. It can operate for up to 25 minutes at a range of 500 meters and it only needs 96 minutes to charge back up – just enough time to read another article on how to fly a drone.

DJI Phantom 3 Specs
$599<25min.Outdoors720p4480mAh96min.1.2 kg46x33x20cm500 m

Hold on tight because this one isn’t the last Phantom we’ll review here.

3. Parrot Bebop Quadcopter

Okay, we’ll admit, we’re pretty partial to Parrot quadcopters. We’re not saying that Parrot make the best quadcopter models, however, they do make some pretty solid offers. Take the Bebop for example.

For just $368, you get an HD 1080p camera, a battery to last you 22 minutes, a small but efficient drone (14 ounces), which can more than match any of the previous entries on the list. The fact is: smaller drones should not be dismissed.

Parrot Bebop Specs
$329<22min.Outdoors1080p1200mAh<100min.14.1oz.33x38x3.6cm250 m

I personally prefer something that’s lighter and more agile, especially if it can capture such amazing videos.

2. DJI Phantom 3 4K Quadcopter

We said we’d be back with the Phantom. This is the premium version of the previous Phantom 3. At almost double the price of the previous one, all that money mostly goes into the camera.

Instead of a basic 1080p camera, you get a 4K Full-HD one that is sure to leave all viewers awestruck. Did we mention that the Phantom models come with their own controllers?

Clearly one of the features that secured them a spot as the best quadcopter drones of 2016, their remote controls feature dedicated buttons for return to home, GPS control, a shutter button complete with focus adjustments, among other amazing features.

1. Parrot AR.DRONE 2.0 Quadcopter

However, the DJI Phantoms aren’t the only quadcopters to come with a dedicated remote control. The Parrot AR.DRONE 2.0 tops our list. However, we’ve decided to put it here not because of its specs.

If it comes down to technical aspects, the previous one should win by a really long distance. The Parrot AR.DRONE 2.0 is simply an incredibly maneuverable, professional device – it’s even advertised to filmmakers.

That’s because the 720p image is so crisp, it really comes close to the resolution at which they film movies and TV series today.

Parrot AR.DRONE 2.0 Specs
$265<11min.Outdoors720p HD1500mAh<100min.13.4oz.58x58x13cm500 m

The Parrot also has a few nice features that make it stand out: the battery provides quite an extensive flight time, and it even comes in three colors: jungle camouflage, desert camouflage, and snow camouflage.

How many of these quadcopters do you now want to buy? If it were up to us, we’d choose one of the more powerful best quadcopter drones and one of the smaller, fly-sized ones.

We recommend you look for both the best quadcopter to use in the house, as well as the best 2016 quadcopter drone for outdoor fun.

Tell us if you own any of these devices. Did we get it right? Are we completely wrong in our ranking of the best camera drones of 2016? Leave a comment and let us know!
