DBPOWER UDI U842 Drone Remote Control & Set-Up for First Flight
Like most drones sold out there, DB POWER UDI U842 comes with a black-colored 2.4 GHz remote control used to operate the drone. For this reason, it would be necessary that you familiarize with the functions of each key in preparation for your first flight. We have highlighted the roles of the keys and their location to make your work easy.
The power on/ off key is located in the middle part of the remote control, just below the power light. As its name implies, the key helps you power on or shut down the remote control. The power light that is on top of the power on/off key lights up when you switch on the controller.
The throttle/ left, and right rudder stick is positioned on the top left-hand side of the remote control. This key syncs the transmitter and the drone. Also, the key lets you take off or land the drone. Below the rudder stick is the left/ right rudder trims that let you stabilize the drone when it drifts right or left.
The headless mode button and the speed key are located on the bottom left of the remote control, adjacent to the LCD screen. The speed key lets you accelerate or decelerate while the headless function allows you to fly the drone in a headless mode.
The forward/backward/ left/right flying stick is positioned on the top right side of the remote. This is an important key since it lets you turn the drone to the left or right side or fly it upwards or downward. The forward/ backward key positioned adjacent to the flying stick lets you stabilize the drone when it yaws forward and back.
Other important keys on the right side of the remote control are the left/ right flying trim and the flip mode key. The flip mode lets you perform 360 degrees flips while the left/light flying trim prevents the drone from swinging left or right while flying.
Flying the drone
After mastering the functions of each key on the remote control, we suggest that you get the drone into an open space in preparation to get it airborne. Also, make sure that its battery is charged fully and the propellers are intact.
Subsequently, place the drone on a flat surface and turn on the transmitter. The transmitter’s lights and those on the drone will blink to indicate that the remote and the drone are ready to sync.
Afterwards, flip the throttle/ left, and right rudder stick up and down in an attempt to synchronize the drone and the transmitter. The transmitter’s light will remain constant, and those of the drone will flash to indicate a successful sync.
After a successful sync, slowly push the throttle stick upward until the drone rises five meters above the ground. While the drone is airborne, it may start swaying right or left. In this case, use the left/ right rudder trims to keep it in balance. Also, you ought to try operating the copter using other keys on the remote controller.
The next step after taking off and balancing the drone on air is landing. To accomplish this, move the throttle stick down slowly, till the drone gets onto the ground. You may want to master the steps above before you fly the drone into greater heights. This is important if you want to avoid serious crashes or even losing the DBPOWER UDI U842.
